An OS (operating system) is software installed on a computer or other computing device that manages and coordinates the operation of various components and applications within the system. An OS provides the user with an interface for interacting with the computer and the ability to run applications. It also manages computer resources, distributes tasks to the processor, and controls memory and input/output devices.
